Their dimensions are ISO-compliant to be able to load them on the vehicles that carry the other, normal containers. The carrying vehicle can generally be changed without requiring any loading/unloading system thanks to the folding feet at the four corners. |

TIR. The first letters of the words Transports Internationaux Routiers in French. This is an agreement signed in Geneva, Switzerland on January 15, 1959 by the International Transporters Union (IRU) of the United Nations. This is an agreement that is signed by and between 11 countries (Austria, Sweden, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, France, Malta, Switzerland, Tunisia and Yugoslavia), which allows united freight forwarding (by land, sea air and water ways and container utilization (1944). In application, the land vehicles of the member countries of the agreement carry a TIR certificate showing the type, quantity and nature of the bonded cargo to be carried as well as the TIR plates to be attached to various places on the vehicle. The customs checks for the bonded goods indicated in the TIR certificate and loaded on vehicle is carried out in the source country and only the external checks are carried out (except in case of doubt) in the customs of the countries on the itinerary. The vehicles comprised of a tractor and semi-trailer are called TIR in our country as well. |
